Friday night, October 22nd, we will meet at the Horse and Hounds Restaurant and Pub located at 4620 East Silver Springs Blvd., Ocala. The atmosphere there is awesome as well as the food. H'orderves will be served and a cash bar will be available.
Saturday Night:
On Saturday night, October 23rd, we will be gathering on East Lake Weir at the home of Wendell & Cathy Landry. This gorgeous lake-place has a blanket of soft, green grass that merges with fluffy, white sand which will be the floor for our sunset dinner where we will be served buffet style while we are serenaded by LIVE music, surrounded by tiki torches, stars in the sky, the sound of waves gently crashing against the shoreline and casual conversation with our long-since-seen friends. There will be sunset cruises available for those that wish to take a ride on the lake .
Before dinner, h'orderves will be served and through-out the evening there will be a cash bar. So you know, our CHEF for the evening is none other than our Classmate, Mr. Dodge Schwartzburg! He comes highly recommended from many in the area…and he’s giving us a great deal I’m sure!
Thank you in advance to Wendell & Cathy Landry for providing the venues on Friday and Saturday nights - at no additional cost to us - and to Dodge for putting the menu together along with all the time and talent it will take to provide us with some excellent food! (There are many more to thank and they will all be recognized later.)
How much is it going to cost?:
The cost of the two-night affair is $60 per person. We have worked really hard to keep this price as low as possible in hopes that everyone that wants to attend will be able to.
So you know, the price includes many factors -insurance, food, tables, chairs, decorations, transportation, the reunion website, payment processing fees, legal matters, music/bands, table cloths, plates, napkins, utensils, postage, and lots more. If you figure it out, that's only $2 per year since we've graduated – PER PERSON...that's a deal!
Inclement Weather:
Should there be rain, we have an alternate location planned and will let you know those details as the reunion gets closer.
Hotel Rooms:
There are a block of rooms being reserved at the brand new Holiday Inn Express in Silver Springs for those of you that need a hotel. This Hotel happens to be conveniently located just down the street from the Horse and Hounds. You may find that a hotel in the Villages would be more accommodating for you on Saturday night since the Villages is about 10 miles from the Lake Place.
